Patient referral to the GASTRO CENTRS
Patient referral to the GASTRO CENTRS
All procedures at the GASTRO CENTRS, including gastrointestinal endoscopies, functional examinations, and others, are performed only with a doctor’s referral. This applies not only to state-funded procedures but also to those paid for by the patient or an insurance provider. If you arrive without a referral, we reserve the right to refuse the procedure. A referral can be issued by a general practitioner, a specialist doctor, or a GASTRO CENTRS physician after a consultation, if medically necessary. A doctor’s referral is not required for paid consultations only.
State referral corridors:
The Green Corridor is intended for patients with suspected gastrointestinal oncological diseases, ensuring urgent examinations within 10 working days outside the general waiting list. Services are available only with specific ‘Green Corridor’ codes: Z03.115, Z03.116, and Z03.118–Z03.121.
The Yellow Corridor applies to patients with previously diagnosed oncological conditions who require an urgent follow-up examination. In this case, expedited access to endoscopic examinations within 10 working days is also guaranteed, using ‘Yellow Corridor’ codes: C00–D09 or D37–D48.
Screening colonoscopy is available for patients aged 50 to 74 with a positive fecal occult blood test result once every 2 years. The referral must include the diagnosis code Z12.1 and be accompanied by the test result. The examination is performed within 30 days outside the general waiting list, and patients are exempt from co-payment.
Important for specialist physicians: The referral must not include both codes (Z03.118 and Z12.1) simultaneously, as these codes have different timeframes for providing the examination and different patient co-payment regulations.
Paid services and insurance:
In cases where state-funded gastrointestinal endoscopies are not available, the patient may choose to undergo the endoscopy at their own expense or with appropriate health insurance coverage.
For patients without insurance, all examinations and consultations are available for a fee, and prices depend on the complexity and specifics of the chosen procedure.
For patients using insurance services, please check your insurance coverage in advance, as some policies cover only specific procedures or consultations, either fully or partially. We cooperate with many health insurance companies, ensuring convenient payment for services. You can view our partners here: Partners.
